History

Steven James Deines began building communications companies in the central United States over 30 years ago. From the start, he was aware that having a lightweight and agile communication system was an essential complement to the operators response time to disasters. With this idea in mind, they developed their equipment into one of the most established and successful in the world of communications.
 

Since our inception, Portable Beam painstakingly engineers, designs, tests and builds communications equipment that assemble with ease, can be used with confidence and always put operations of performance and durability out front. Portable Beam has also enjoyed sponsoring relief efforts to disasters in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Japan, New Orleans and other significant world events where life line communication systems are necessary.
 

Today, Portable Beam capitalizes on a history setting performance standards in an industry inherently driven to innovate. Portable Beam has developed a specific line of higher performance communication systems that are lighter, stronger and more easily assembled than the competition. We manufactured the first madelbrot antenna for all frequencies in the HF bands weighing less than 80g, placing our antennas among the lightest and most efficient in the world and creating a new category of first response communication systems.
 

Placing Portable Beam at the highest levels of the industry demands constant innovation. More recent trend-setting additions to the Portable Beam line include the first use of a free floating antenna system that may be mounted in winds up to 180 MPH.
